Reptile Hacks? - 10 Ways To Save Money Video
Hi guys!
Owning reptiles can get pretty expensive (especially when you have more than one), so I've compiled a short list of little ways to save money while owning them. These are just the things that I do.
Things I forgot to mention:
Breeding your own mealworms - If you use a lot of mealworms, consider putting them in a critter keeper or shoe box container with oats and greens. DO NOT REFRIGERATE THIS, and make sure they always have fresh greens. I started out with a 1000 count of them, and they pupate and turn into beetles, and breed all on their own. I haven’t bought any new mealworms in about a year. So my leopard gecko has had a pretty endless supply of them.
CareCredit - If you live in the United States (not sure about other places), this is actually a credit card you can get to pay for vet visits if you need it. I normally never advocate for credit cards, but, for us, we had a dog that needed emergency surgery, and in that unexpected situation, we got care credit and were able to pay for it. Then, when Zsasz needed her surgery, we were able to use it for that, too. So if you don’t mind getting a credit card and are in a pinch, CareCredit is great, and they usually don’t charge interest for the first 6 months - 2 years (depending on how much you’re spending). Plus you can use it at human dentist offices and eye doctors, too. You just apply on their website and can get instant approval.
