Gruffalo Trail, Colin Glen Park, Belfast, Northern Ireland Video

A boys day out in Belfast to check the Gruffalo Trail, Colin Glen Forest Park, and see the different characters of the story found there.

Colin Glen Forest Park in Belfast, Northern Ireland, is the place for the official Gruffalo Trail and the only place in Ireland that has it. Since this is a cartoon movie, the boys were so excited about the idea of going to the park and following the track to check these characters and take photos with them - I was even as excited as them :-)

Each character inside the Gruffalo Trail in Colin Glen has been recreated by the sculptor Andrew McIntyre and then set against the backdrop of this stunning forest park. The interesting thing to find out is that this place is usually enjoyed by the whole members of the family and not just the kids, since it combines between walking in the forest as well as searching for those different sculptures and characters.

The Gruffalo Trail starts through entering the Gruffalo Archway and then walking through the leafy park to the Gruffalo themed seating area which is located next to the cascading Colin river.

People don't believe it at first - I was one of them - that this park welcomes around 1,000 visitor during the day and this makes it one of the most visited free parks to be found in Belfast that gives the children the chance to meet their favorite characters of the cartoon movie and at the same time get out in the fresh air.

These characters are known to be taken from the picture book that was written by Julia Donaldson, and which was illustrated by Axel Scheffler, and are transformed to a trail that the kids love to follow and take some pictures by its sculptures.

It is not a long walk - but definitely a very interesting one; to be moving around and searching for the characters of the movie which you still didn't come across - which will take around 20 minutes from you but which will also vary according to the amount of time you spend taking pictures, sitting a little bit by one sculpture, or just standing there staring at any of these characters you are facing.

Me and the boys loved how the characters were actually made and enjoyed going to this place - we are even planning to go once again with baby Olivia and Michelle to give them the chance to see and witness what we did - but we loved different characters at the end; two ending up with Gruffalo as their best character and the most loved, while one ended up loving the snake.

Following the clever mouse in Colin Forest Park to reach the 8 foot tall Gruffalo and have a seat at the Gruffalo themed seated area is the main goal behind visiting this place which is now considered one of the most visited and one of the best family attractions in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Don't worry about getting tired in the middle or being in need for something to drink because you will come across a small coffee shop where you could have coffee or tea, and there is also a small gift shop for those willing to bring back a memory with them.

The idea of following a trail with some scenes or characters related to a book or a movie is always an interesting one - its like having a mission which you want to complete - and thankfully, this is not the first kind of park to be found in Northern Ireland which is following the same theme, but we have also been to Narnia Trail which is related to the story written by the famous British writer, CS Lewis, known as The Chronicles of Narnia and which was considered the most famous for him that it was even taken in radio, TV, and movie; this trail is located in Rostrevor in Northern Ireland (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RkoFJbiQqPA) - we have been there as well and the kids also got excited about trying to find the different spots and following up with the whole place along with its stops.

There are different trails which one could take in Northern Ireland in addition to Gruffalo Trail in Colin Glen park (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mD3ZXhfGSoA) and the Narnia Trail, such as the Van Morrison Trail in Belfast (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGKbNy3sRSE), George Best Trail in his home life in Belfast (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JDTRKHoWGv0), and the Limavady Sculpture Trail (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfnHiuGHEnE).

In every single one of these places we have had a different kind of experience which was enjoyed by us adults as well as the kids - we were all searching for things, characters, places, and events all the time, so it is not related to age or something.

Have you ever been to any of these different trails in Northern Ireland? Did you get the chance to visit the Gruffalo Trail before with your kids? Share with us your experience if you have been there and tell us which character you loved the most and which one did your kid feel much excited about seeing and taking photos with?

About the Site 🌐

This site provides links to random videos hosted at YouTube, with the emphasis on random. πŸŽ₯

Origins of the Idea 🌱

The original idea for this site stemmed from the need to benchmark the popularity of a video against the general population of YouTube videos. 🧠

Challenges Faced πŸ€”

Obtaining a large sample of videos was crucial for accurate ranking, but YouTube lacks a direct method to gather random video IDs.

Even searching for random strings on YouTube doesn't yield truly random results, complicating the process further. πŸ”

Creating Truly Random Links πŸ› οΈ

The YouTube API offers additional functions enabling the discovery of more random videos. Through inventive techniques and a touch of space-time manipulation, we've achieved a process yielding nearly 100% random links to YouTube videos.

About YouTube πŸ“Ί
