Closest House Ever To Railroad Tracks 9 Years Later! Abandoned Railroad & Trains 9 Feet From Home! Video

Update on closest house to railroad tracks ever! Trains so close to house that you can't walk between the train and the house! 9 years later! Half of this short line railroad branch is abandoned and out of service. This ex Pennsylvania Railroad was operated by Rail America and then Indiana & Ohio Railway when I caught trains from both companies going by it. The house is in Cedar Grove, Indiana and the rail is about 9 feet from the brick of the house. At one time there was a switch right next to the house on the opposite side of the tracks for a siding. The switch handle is still laying in the weeds. The track here has been out of service since 2013 due to severe washouts. This video shows a train going by the house in 2011 and shows the tracks there as they are today. I did the same thing in another spot along the line and this video shows the tracks in several locations. Half of this 26 mile Brookville Branch is out of service with washouts and heavy vegetation. In 2011, I was just south of Cedar Grove and found a spot where they had just replaced a section of broken rail. There was a small piece discarded by the road and I show a few pictures of it in this video. It is amazing how small the rail is. It is very light weight 1897 rail.I also show the end of active track. Both of the main customers on this line are new. The grain elevator that ships grain in was just built a few years ago. See my videos of it under construction in my Indiana & Ohio Railway playlist. The other customer is Valley Asphalt and they just installed a spur this year that includes a level crossing. They ship gravel in from Melvin Stone just north of Wilmington, Ohio. See my videos of the spur construction.I am trying to record this line for history. Some day this video will be an important part of history. Filmed July 21, 2020.

About the Site 🌐

This site provides links to random videos hosted at YouTube, with the emphasis on random. πŸŽ₯

Origins of the Idea 🌱

The original idea for this site stemmed from the need to benchmark the popularity of a video against the general population of YouTube videos. 🧠

Challenges Faced πŸ€”

Obtaining a large sample of videos was crucial for accurate ranking, but YouTube lacks a direct method to gather random video IDs.

Even searching for random strings on YouTube doesn't yield truly random results, complicating the process further. πŸ”

Creating Truly Random Links πŸ› οΈ

The YouTube API offers additional functions enabling the discovery of more random videos. Through inventive techniques and a touch of space-time manipulation, we've achieved a process yielding nearly 100% random links to YouTube videos.

About YouTube πŸ“Ί

YouTube, an American video-sharing website based in San Bruno, California, offers a diverse range of user-generated and corporate media content. 🌟

Content and Users 🎡

Users can upload, view, rate, share, and comment on videos, with content spanning video clips, music videos, live streams, and more.

While most content is uploaded by individuals, media corporations like CBS and the BBC also contribute. Unregistered users can watch videos, while registered users enjoy additional privileges such as uploading unlimited videos and adding comments.

Monetization and Impact πŸ€‘

YouTube and creators earn revenue through Google AdSense, with most videos free to view. Premium channels and subscription services like YouTube Music and YouTube Premium offer ad-free streaming.

As of February 2017, over 400 hours of content were uploaded to YouTube every minute, with the site ranking as the second-most popular globally. By May 2019, this figure exceeded 500 hours per minute. πŸ“ˆ
