Pick Me! SC set an all-time adoption record July 12 – 14 with 1,556 animals adopted across South Carolina. “We are overwhelmed by the joy we saw in shelters and Petco stores across the state,” said No Kill South Carolina Director, Abigail Appleton Kamleiter. “Animal lovers came out by the thousands across our state to adopt animals in their communities. It shows how much people in our state truly care.”
Pick Me! SC is sponsored by Petco Foundation and BOBS from Skechers. We’re proud to support this lifesaving event, in partnership with BOBS from Skechers,” said Susanne Kogut, president of the Petco Foundation. “When we all work together to save animal lives, we get one step closer to creating a lifesaving nation.” Petco stores across South Carolina hosted animal welfare organizations to reach even more potential adopters.
This was the second year for Pick Me! SC – and adoption numbers grew by 31%. The statewide adoption event is sponsored by the Petco Foundation, in partnership with BOBS from Skechers, and organized by No Kill South Carolina (NKSC). The goal was to save 1,500 lives through adoptions in just one weekend. Most shelters and adoption centers offered “no-fee” or “low-fee” adoptions as part of this lifesaving event. NKSC is a program of Charleston Animal Society.
