PROMPT : Walking Robot Video
SMALL WALKING ROBOT: ALL-TERRAIN PLATFORM (PROMPT)
Martian exploration will evolve at the dawn of 2020 towards robots at the restricted cost, reduced dimensions and the mobility adapted to the rough terrains which are rich in geological information. Canada being an international leader in space robotics, a participation in these missions seems a natural evolution of its program. With an aim of developing a bank of solutions specific to planetary robotics, the Department of Space Technologies of the Canadian Space Agency entrusted us the mandate to design and protoype a small walking robot platform.
With only two motors actuating its six legs, the robot has a simplicity of control which goes hand in hand with the specifications required by the space context of the project. It has mechanical reflexes enabling him to adapt in an intelligent and automatic way to its environment and has a mechanical effectiveness seldom equalized for a walking robot.

L'exploration martienne évoluera à l'aube de 2020 vers des robots aux coûts restreints, aux dimensions réduites et à la mobilité adaptée aux terrains accidentés qui sont riches en information géologique. Le Canada étant un chef de file international en robotique spatiale, une participation à ces missions semble une évolution naturelle de son programme. Dans le but de développer une banque de solutions spécifiques à la robotique planétaire, le Département des technologies spatiales de l'Agence spatiale canadienne nous a confié le mandat de concevoir et de fabriquer une plate-forme de robot marcheur.
Avec seulement deux actionneurs qui entraînent l'ensemble de ses six pattes, le robot présente une simplicité de contrôle qui va de pair avec les requis exigés par le contexte spatial du projet. Il dispose de réflexes mécaniques lui permettant de s'adapter de manière intelligente et automatique à son environnement et présente une efficacité mécanique rarement égalée pour un robot marcheur.

The YouTube API offers additional functions enabling the discovery of more random videos. Through inventive techniques and a touch of space-time manipulation, we've achieved a process yielding nearly 100% random links to YouTube videos.
