How to Make a Digital Backup Copy of DVD & Blu-Ray Discs FAST Using MakeMKV HandBrake & GPU Encoding Video

!!Update!! at 2:55 in this video I say to rename a file to libaccs.dll but on screen you see me type out libaacs.dll. I misspoke at this point and didn't catch it before posting the video live. To get this to work you want to name it libaacs.dll like you see on screen. Sorry for the confusion.

I've been making digital backup copies of my DVD's and Blu-Ray discs for my home PLEX media server for several years now using Make MKV and Handbrake. Recently however, I learned how to simplify the entire process by configuring Handbrake to both rip and encode movies rather than having to use Make MKV to rip and then switching to Handbrake to encode. I also learned how to enable GPU Encoding in HandBrake, i.e. Intel QuickSync, AMD VCE and Nvidia NVENC to make the video encoding process go much more quickly! In the following video I made in 2018 https://youtu.be/_-xumTcdJr8 using an Intel i7-4790K CPU it took me 20-ish minutes to rip a disc and then about the length of the movie being backed up to encode it with Handbrake. So a 2 hour movie took about 2 hours to encode; making the entire backup process for one movie take about 2 hours and 20 minutes. In this video it still takes 20-ish minutes to rip a DVD or Blu-Ray disc however when using GPU Encoding with HandBrake that 2 hour encode time has been cut down to around 20 minutes as well!!! Yes, you read that right; instead of it taking almost 2-1/2 hours to create a digital back up copy of a movie for your home media server it can now be done in 30 to 50 minutes depending on the length of the movie being backed up. If this sounds good to you then you're going to enjoy this video. Have fun!

About the Site 🌐

This site provides links to random videos hosted at YouTube, with the emphasis on random. πŸŽ₯

Origins of the Idea 🌱

The original idea for this site stemmed from the need to benchmark the popularity of a video against the general population of YouTube videos. 🧠

Challenges Faced πŸ€”

Obtaining a large sample of videos was crucial for accurate ranking, but YouTube lacks a direct method to gather random video IDs.

Even searching for random strings on YouTube doesn't yield truly random results, complicating the process further. πŸ”

Creating Truly Random Links πŸ› οΈ

The YouTube API offers additional functions enabling the discovery of more random videos. Through inventive techniques and a touch of space-time manipulation, we've achieved a process yielding nearly 100% random links to YouTube videos.

About YouTube πŸ“Ί

YouTube, an American video-sharing website based in San Bruno, California, offers a diverse range of user-generated and corporate media content. 🌟

Content and Users 🎡

Users can upload, view, rate, share, and comment on videos, with content spanning video clips, music videos, live streams, and more.

While most content is uploaded by individuals, media corporations like CBS and the BBC also contribute. Unregistered users can watch videos, while registered users enjoy additional privileges such as uploading unlimited videos and adding comments.

Monetization and Impact πŸ€‘

YouTube and creators earn revenue through Google AdSense, with most videos free to view. Premium channels and subscription services like YouTube Music and YouTube Premium offer ad-free streaming.

As of February 2017, over 400 hours of content were uploaded to YouTube every minute, with the site ranking as the second-most popular globally. By May 2019, this figure exceeded 500 hours per minute. πŸ“ˆ
