HODL i.e. hold on for dear life is a strategy that a lot of cryptocurrency traders are using at the moment but is it a good strategy?

Should I stop a losing trade or let it run? So if you go for a 5% day trade and it doesn’t go your way instead of stopping yourself out just changing it from a trade to an investment. Initially it doesn't sound like a great idea at all; no stop loss or even martingale sound crazy but when you dig into them there is something you can take. You take a trade because you have a premise. So if the market turns against you, then the reason for you entering the trade is negated and you need to get out of the trade. It is dangerous to turn day trades that move against you into longer term investments as it can easily become a way to attempt to justify to hold onto losing trades (i.e. relying on hope). Also, investing and trading are two different things which shouldn't be mixed.
